Netbooks are primarily used to stay connected to the Web while you are on the go.

It is used for surfing the web, chatting, and shopping online. The main purpose of a Netbook is to offer a cost effective way to stay connected to the Internet. It is made for those that use the Internet for finding information but not so much for people that create a lot of data.

The screens on many of them have full sized, super-bright LCD screens that provide you with a sharp picture. Although the battery life will vary depending on the model, some of them offer up to eight hours of surfing time on a single charge.

Netbooks are light for easy transportation. Some weigh as little as two pounds so you won’t have to worry about hauling around a heavy laptop. This makes them perfect for traveling or just wondering throughout the house.

The Keyboard is regular size so you can surf the web with speed and they boast a large memory so you won’t run out of storage room.

The price makes it a great alternative for teenagers. I was able to find one for my son for under four hundred and fifty dollars and he is able to stay connected with his friends online, look up info when he’s doing his homework and all he can do it all without ever taking over my work computer.

Considering a laptop will cost almost twice as much I feel it’s the perfect solution. He wins and I win.

A netbook is a great thing if you do not plan on making charts and you don’t need data software. For my work I will stick with a laptop but for my son to get on the Internet and play, he gets the netbook.
